Configuring link scanning

Before configuring link scanning in the message processing rule, make sure that link scanning is enabled in general protection settings.

To configure link scanning settings in the message processing rule:

1. In the application web interface window, select the Rules section.
2. In the rule table, select the rule for which you want to configure Anti-Virus protection.

   This opens the View rule window.

3. Click Edit.

   Rule settings become editable.

4. In the left pane, select the Link scanning section.
5. Use the toggle switch to the right of the section title to enable or disable link scanning for messages that match rule criteria.

   By default, link scanning is enabled.

6. If at the previous step, you enabled link scanning, configure the actions applied as a result of scanning to messages that were found to contain malicious or advertising links as well as links relevant to legitimate programs:
   1. Under Action, select the action that you want to apply to messages:
      • Delete message.
      • Reject.
      • Skip.

      The Reject action is selected by default.

   2. If you want messages with detected objects to be automatically placed in Backup based on the results of a scan, turn on the Put original message to Backup toggle switch.

      This toggle switch is off by default.

   3. If you want a tag to be added automatically to the beginning of the subject of messages with detected objects, in the Text to add to message subject field, enter the text of the tag.

      The [Malicious|Adware|Legitimate links] tag is added by default.

7. Click Save.
