external_connections block

In the external_connections block, you can specify the names of external connection points using the following parameter:

- name

For each external connection point, you can specify the following parameters.

Brief description of the external connection point.

ip

Yes_icon

IP address of the external connection point of the virtual network function.

mask

Yes_icon

Subnet mask of the external connection point of the virtual network function.

gw

No_icon

IP address of the gateway of the external connection point of the virtual network function.

dns

No_icon

IP address of the DNS server of the external connection point of the virtual network function.

group

No_icon

The group to which the external connection point of the virtual network function belongs. Mandatory parameter if multiple VDUs within the virtual network function use the same external connection point.

The following values can be specified for the ip, mask, gw, and dns settings:

  • Enter a value manually — The IP address is assigned using DHCP via MAC-based reservation of an OpenStack port and cannot be changed.
  • AUTO — The IP address is assigned automatically using an external DHCP server or scripts. Scripts can be specified in the configurations block.
  • MANUAL — You must specify the IP address manually.
