To create an automatic patch installation task:

  1. Open the Administration Console of Kaspersky Security Center.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • If you want to create a task for all SVMs, select the Managed devices folder of the console tree. In the workspace, select the Tasks tab.
    • If you want to create a task for SVMs of one KSC cluster, in the Managed devices folder of the console tree select the administration group containing this KSC cluster. In the workspace, select the Tasks tab.
    • If you want to create a task for one or several SVMs, select the Tasks folder of the console tree.
  3. Click the Create task button to launch the task creation wizard.
  4. During the first step of the Wizard, select Automatic installation of patches as the type of task for Kaspersky Security for Virtualization 5.0 Agentless. Proceed to the next step of the Task Wizard.
  5. If you have started the task creation wizard from the Tasks folder, specify the method of selection of the SVMs for which you are creating the task. You can select SVMs from the list of virtual machines discovered by the Administration Server, manually specify the SVM addresses, import a list of SVMs from a file, or specify a previously configured selection of devices (for details, please refer to the Kaspersky Security Center documentation). Depending on the specified method of SVM selection, perform one of the following operations in the window that opens:
    • In the list of detected virtual machines, specify the SVMs on which you want to create the task. To do so, select check boxes in the list on the left of the name of the relevant SVMs.
    • Click the Add or Add IP range button and manually specify the addresses of SVMs.
    • Click the Import button, and in the window that opens select the TXT file containing the list of SVM addresses.
    • Click the Browse button and in the window that opens specify the name of the selection containing SVMs on which you want to create the task.

Proceed to the next step of the Task Wizard.

  6. Configure the task run schedule settings. Please see the Kaspersky Security Center documentation for details. Proceed to the next step of the Task Wizard.
  7. In the Name field, enter the name of the automatic patch installation task. Proceed to the next step of the Task Wizard.
  8. If you want the task to start as soon as the Task Wizard finishes, select the Run task when the wizard is complete check box. Finish the New Task Wizard. The created automatic patch installation task appears in the list of tasks.

If you configured a schedule for starting the task in the Task start schedule settings window, the task is started according to this schedule. You can also start or stop the task manually at any time.
