Step 12. Configuring the proxy server settings

If a proxy server is used for Internet access, during this step you can specify the proxy server settings. Internet access is required for downloading anti-virus databases and Anti-Spam databases from Kaspersky Lab update servers. If you do not configure the proxy server at this step, you can configure the proxy server later without using the initial configuration script.
If a proxy server is not used for Internet access, press ENTER.
- To use a proxy server and configure its settings:
- Type

) and press ENTER. - Do one of the following:
- If you want to specify the FQDN (fully qualified domain name) and port of the proxy server, enter the FQDN of the proxy server in the format
proxy_server_FQDN:port
and press ENTER. - If you want to specify the IP address and port of the proxy server, enter the proxy server address in the format
proxy_server_IP_address:port
and press ENTER.
- If you want to specify the FQDN (fully qualified domain name) and port of the proxy server, enter the FQDN of the proxy server in the format
- Specify whether or not authentication is required for connecting to the proxy server:
- If authentication is not required, type
no
(orn
) and press ENTER. - If authentication is required, type
yes
(ory
) and press ENTER.

- If you specified that authentication is required:
- Enter the proxy server user name and press ENTER.
- Enter the password for accessing the proxy server and press ENTER.
