Applies to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Linux File Servers

  • Neither Real-Time Protection nor On-Demand Scan scan the symlinks.

Solution: make sure the file name (not the symlink) matches the reality.

  • The CurlFtpFS hangs the machine when the Anti-Virus denies access to a file located on a remote FTP shared resource mounted as read/write on the protected server when the FTP user has no write access to the shared resource.

Solution: you should upgrade to curlftpfs 0.9.2 or higher and libcurl/7.19.4 or higher.

  • In case there are several hardlinks to a file checked by  the Anti-Virus, and Quarantine action is applied (or the file is moved to Backup before disinfect or delete attempt), the file is stored in the  Quarantine/Backup storage with the name, it was checked with. The restore from Quarantine/Backup procedure will make the file copy with that particular hardlink name.

  • Both, the console utility and Kaspersky Web Management Console allow bypassing the denial to modify Anti-Virus settings established via Kaspersky Administration Kit policy (temporarily, until the proximate synchronization with the Administration Server).

  • Kaspersky Administration Kit cannot control an Anti-Virus installed on FreeBSD.

  • The Real-time protection task does not scan file operations on NFS mounted resources in case of installing the default kernel-mode NFS server on FreeBSD.

    Solution: use a unfs3 user-space NFS server.

  • Anti-Virus does not scan MBR.
