How to reset the password for a Kaspersky Lab application

Use the instructions from this article to reset a password which restricts access to the Kaspersky Lab application settings. If you forgot a password to your secure vault created through Kaspersky Total Security or Kaspersky Security Cloud, it will not be possible to restore it. You will need to create a new vault.

Entering the password for a Kaspersky Lab application

If you can’t remember the password for your Kaspersky Lab application, reset it: 

  1. Download the archive with the password reset tool.
  2. Open the folder with the archive.

  1. Right-click the archive and select Extract All.

  1. Specify a folder to extract the files to and click Extract.

  1. Boot the computer in Safe Mode. See this article for instructions. 
  2. Open the folder containing the files from the archive and run the file KLAPR.bat.

  • The command prompt will open.

  1. Press any key on the keyboard. You will see a message that the password has been reset successfully.

  1. Close the command prompt and reboot the computer.

The password for your Kaspersky Lab application has been reset.
