How to enable/disable self-defense of Kaspersky Small Office Security 3 for Personal Computer

Kaspersky Small Office Security 3 for Personal Computer secures your computer against malware. Therefore, sometimes the antivirus software itself becomes the target for malicious programs that try to block the application or remove it from your computer. In order to protect itself,  Kaspersky Small Office Security 3 for Personal Computer includes the self-defense and external service control components.

In some cases, for example, when you need to delete large trace files, you may need to disable the self-defense of the application.

In order to enable/disable the application's self-defense, perform the following actions:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. Click the Settings link in the right upper corner of the window.

  1. In the left part of the Settings window on the General tab, select the Self-Defense item.
  2. In the right part of the window under Self-Defense, do the following:
    • If you want to disable the program self-defense clear Enable Self-Defense.
    • If you want to enable the program self-defense check Enable Self-Defense.
  1. In the right bottom corner of the window, click the OK button.
