How to update databases of Kaspersky Security Cloud
After you install Kaspersky Security Cloud, update antivirus databases and run a full scan. When the databases are out of date, your computer is not protected against the new threats.
To update the application, you need an active license. You can buy an activation code in our online store. To renew a license with a discount, visit License Renewal and Upgrade Center.

By default, the application downloads updates for enabled application components automatically every three hours. You can change the update schedule in application settings.
What is downloaded during an update
The following files are downloaded and installed on your computer during updates:
- Antivirus databases: contain threat descriptions and ways to fight them.
- Application modules: fix vulnerabilities, improve existing features, and add new ones.
- New application versions: he application automatically downloads a new version of Kaspersky Security Cloud and installs it on top of the current one. If you experience problems with the automatic application update, download a new version from the Kaspersky Lab website and install it manually.
How run an update locally on your computer
- Check the Internet connection (for example, try opening www.kaspersky.com).
- In the lower-right corner of Desktop (notification area), right-click the Kaspersky Internet Security icon, and then select Update on the shortcut menu.
If the application icon is hidden from the notification area, click the Show hidden icons arrow. If the Kaspersky Lab icon is missing from the notification area, start Kaspersky Security Cloud.
- The Update window opens.
How to update antivirus databases remotely

How to find the databases release date
Hover your mouse pointer over the Kaspersky Security Cloud icon in the lower-right corner of Desktop.
If the application icon is hidden from the notification area, click the Show hidden icons arrow. If the Kaspersky Lab icon is missing from the notification area, start Kaspersky Security Cloud.
