Issue
The Storage and Settings buttons are inactive for a current Linux user in Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Linux.
The user also cannot run control commands in the CLI through kesl-control and gets the error: “Forbidden command: you do not have enough rights to execute '<command>' command”.
Cause
The current user is not assigned the administrator role in Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Linux. It can be assigned during initial setup of kesl-setup.pl on the Granting the Administrator role step. The administrator role may had been assigned but was revoked afterwards.
Solution
- Assign the administrator role to the required Linux user with the command:$ sudo kesl-control --grant-role admin <username>
- Unload the application interface and reopen it, or restart Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Linux using the command:$ sudo systemctl restart kesl
