Known limitations of Kaspersky Internet Security for Android

Maintenance Release 17 (version 11.17.4.619)
- On some devices, App Lock may work not as intended in split screen mode.
- Due to technical limitations in Android 4.4, 5.x, and later, sending and receiving text messages in Call & Text Filter and Privacy Protection may not work as intended.
- On Android 4.2 - 4.3 devices, Privacy Protection may not hide text messages as intended if Hangouts is set as the default messenger.
- On devices with Asus Mobile Manager installed, if you configure Kaspersky Internet Security and then close it from recent apps, Asus Mobile Manager may block the automatic start of Kaspersky Internet Security. As a result, Kaspersky Internet Security will be unable to receive and run commands from the My Kaspersky portal.

As a result, Kaspersky Internet Security will be unable to receive and run commands from the My Kaspersky portal.
- If you set up SIM Watch and then remove the SIM card, the device will be locked only after it has been restarted.

- App Lock might not work correctly on some devices when using a split screen mode.

- On some Android 4.0-4.3 devices, the hiding of text messages in Privacy Protection might not work correctly when Hangouts is set as a default messenger.
- If you configure Kaspersky Internet Security on a device with Asus Mobile Manager installed and then remove it from the list of recent apps, Asus Mobile Manager may prevent Kaspersky Internet Security for Android from starting automatically. As a result of this, Kaspersky Internet Security for Android cannot receive and run commands from My Kaspersky.
- If, on Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, you configure Kaspersky Internet Security for Android to request a secret code before removing the app, the device might restart after the app has been removed.

- On Lenovo K900 with Android 4.2, if you configure a secret contact list, enable Privacy Protection, and then receive a text message from a private contact, 2 text messages will be displayed.
- On some Android 4.1 devices, the list of contacts to hide does not open after app re-install.
- On Samsung devices, if the data has been encrypted with a pre-installed app for crypto protection, upon receiving the lock command, the device will go into a reboot loop.

- Due to Android 4.4 (and later) technical limitations, the functionality of sending and receiving text messages in Call & Text Filter and Privacy Protection may work not as intended.
- On Android 4.x - 4.3 devices, hiding of text messages in Privacy Protection may work not as intended when Hangouts is set as a default messenger.
- Web Protection doesn't work if you browse in the Incognito mode.
- On some devices if the app detects threat during the scan, it will not notify you about detection. You will be notified about threat detection only in the results window.
- If you connect the device to the account for My Kaspersky, then delete this account and connect the device to another account, the app will not execute any commands sent through My Kaspersky until the app is restarted.
- If you set Extended mode for Web Protection before configuring Wi-Fi connection, Wi-Fi connection may not work.
- If you add a number to the list of allowed contacts and add the same number with a wildcard to the list of blocked contacts, in the Allowed Contacts mode the app will block this number.
- If you try to uninstall the app through app menu and cancel uninstallation on the last wizard step, the app will disable Web Protection.
- On some Android 4.1 devices, the list of hidden contacts doesn't open after reinstalling the application.
- If data on a Samsung device is encrypted with a built-in cryptographic application, the lock command may result in a cyclic reboot.
- On an HTC One X device, the application may not block malicious links in SMS messages.

- The app deletes bookmarks with malware or phishing websites instead of blocking these websites while opening.
- On devices from unknown manufacturers (or with unofficial firmware) the app does not analyze the files in system folders.
- Due to Android 4.4 technical limitations, the app may not hide received SMS commands, as well as wipe all text messages after receiving the Wipe command.
- On Android 4.4 devices the app may not notify about changing Kaspersky Account password on the My Kaspersky portal.
- On Nexus 10 tablets if you open Help and tap the Anti-Theft chapter twice, left navigation panel may be hidden.
- On Samsung devices Web Protection does not detect Chrome as a default browser and recommends setting it as a default browser.
- If your account on the My Kaspersky service has been deleted, the app does not offer you to create a new one.
- If the license expired one day ago, provision of Kaspersky Lab news is unstable.
- On certain Android 4.1 devices if you tap Call&Text Filter or Scan, the app opens 2 windows instead of one.
- On Android 4.3 devices if you pass the first wizard and then change the portrait mode to landscape, the app will display the previous window.
- Opening and closing the app several times is not accounted for in statistics.
- On certain Android 4.2 devices, the Privacy Protection toggle switches only when you hold it.
- If Web Protection is enabled, the Kate Mobile app cannot connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi.
- If Adblock Plus for Android and Kaspersky Internet Security are both installed, the app resets Wi-Fi proxy settings after device restart.
- On certain Android 4.2 devices, the user can activate the trial version after the license expired.
- On Android 4.4 devices if the Internet connection is disabled and the system date is changed 3 weeks forward, the app does not notify that databases are out of date.
- On the Nexus 5 devices if Web Protection is enabled, Chrome cannot clear private data.
- If you enable SIM-Watch and then remove SIM card, the app locks device 3 times.
- The app allows using the "," symbol in the Privacy Protection and Call&Text Filter lists as well as in Anti-Theft fields or in the field for entering the activation code.
- On Samsung devices with Android 2.3.x if Privacy Protection is enabled, but hiding of incoming text messages is disabled, the app hides incoming text message from hidden contact.
- On Android 4.2 devices if you start full scan and open details, the scan statistics will be displayed with a delay.
- On HTC One X devices if you open the Licensing window and then tap Back, the main app window opens instead of the Additional Settings window.

- Due to technical limitations in Android 4.4, the functionality of sending and receiving text messages in Call&Text Filter and Privacy Protection may work not as intended.
- On some Android 4.3 devices, text messages sent to hidden contacts may not be displayed after Privacy Protection has been disabled.
- On some Samsung devices, information about text messages sent to hidden contacts may not be fully hidden.
- On some Android 2.3 devices, exclusion of system apps from scan may work not as intended.
- On Android 2.3-4.3 devices, hiding of text messages in Privacy Protection may work not as intended, when Hangouts is set as a default messenger.
- If GPS is disabled in the device settings while Lock&Locate is enabled, the app will not notify about it.
- On some Android 4.0 devices, when the premium version of the app is activated, the license information is not changed in the Additional Settings window.
- On some Android 2.3 devices, after system time has been changed to at least half an hour back, Call&Text Filter may deliver text messages from blocked contacts.
- Days remained until license expiration may differ by one day on the device and in My Kaspersky.
- No warning is displayed when the app is installed on a device with resolution lower than the one specified in the app system requirements.
- On the attempt to update Anti-Virus databases while the device is not connected to the Internet, the app may fail to notify about it for a long time, resulting in CPU load increase by 20%.
- When Web Protection is enabled, it is impossible to connect to Wi-Fi via TLS.
- The SIM Watch feature related to sending email with a new phone number may work not as intended.
Maintenance Release 2 (version 11.1.5.37)
There are issues in the work of Kaspersky Internet Security for Android on devices running under Android 4.2 when switching between profiles:
- The program may not be seen on a different profile, but will operate in the background mode nevertheless.
- Upon receiving a remote command the program blocks access only to the profile on which the program is installed.
