Installation freezes at the step “Installing Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0... About 5 seconds left”

If the installation stops at the step “Installing Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0…” with the progress bar notification “About five seconds left”, follow the guide below to fix the issue.

  1. Create a restore point Click on your operating system to open the guide: 
  2. Click the link corresponding to your operating system to download Microsoft .Net Framework: 
  3. In the browser window, click Download.
  4. Run the downloaded installer.
  5. Read the license agreement terms and select the checkbox for I have read and accept the license terms.
  6. Click Install.

  1. Wait until it is installed and then click Finish.

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. Try installing a Kaspersky Lab product once again.
