How to reduce the volume of downloaded updates upon the initial startup of Kaspersky Update Utility 4.0 for Windows

If any Kaspersky applications are installed on your computer, follow the steps below to reduce the volume of downloaded updates.
- In the Kaspersky Update Utility for Windows folder, create a new folder. For example, Temp.
- Open C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP*\Data\Updater\Temporary Files\.
- From Temporary Files, copy the entire temporaryFolder folder to the Temp folder that you have created earlier.
- Run Kaspersky Update Utility for Windows.
- In the main application window, click Settings.
- Go to the Download section and specify the Temp folder that you have created earlier as temporary.
- Click OK.
If Kaspersky Security Center is installed and set on your computer, do the following:
- In the Kaspersky Update Utility for Windows folder, create a new folder. For example, Temp.
- In the Temp folder, create a new folder and call it temporaryFolder.
- From the computer with the Administration Server installed, copy the following folders to the temporaryFolder:
- %PROGRAMFILES%\Kaspersky Lab\Security Center\Share\Updates\AutoPatches
- %PROGRAMFILES%\Kaspersky Lab\Security Center\Share\Updates\bases
- %PROGRAMFILES%\Kaspersky Lab\Security Center\Share\Updates\index
The volume of downloaded updates upon the initial startup of Kaspersky Update Utility 4.0 for Windows will be reduced.
