How to reduce the volume of downloaded updates upon the initial startup of Kaspersky Update Utility 4 for Linux/FreeBSD

If any Kaspersky applications are installed on your computer, follow the steps below to reduce the volume of downloaded updates.

  1. In the Kaspersky Update Utility folder, create a new folder. For example, Temp.
  2. Open the folder that is set as temporary in the settings of Kaspersky Update Utility for Linux/FreeBSD.
  3. Copy the entire temporaryFolder folder from the temporary folder to the Temp folder that you created earlier.
  4. In the utility settings, set the Temp folder as temporary.

If Kaspersky Security Center is installed and set on your computer, do the following:

  1. In the Kaspersky Update Utility for Linux/FreeBSD folder, create a new folder. For example, Temp.
  2. In the Temp folder, create a new folder and call it temporaryFolder.
  3. From the computer with the Administration Server installed, copy the following folders to the temporaryFolder:
    • %PROGRAMFILES%\Kaspersky Lab\Security Center\Share\Updates\AutoPatches
    • %PROGRAMFILES%\Kaspersky Lab\Security Center\Share\Updates\bases
    • %PROGRAMFILES%\Kaspersky Lab\Security Center\Share\Updates\index
The volume of downloaded updates upon the initial startup of Kaspersky Update Utility 4 for Linux/FreeBSD will be reduced.
