How to use Kaspersky Update Utility 4 for Linux/FreeBSD through GUI

For FreeBSD, only the console version of the tool is available.  

The main window shows the list of applications for which the updates are downloaded, the Start button to run updates download, and three settings buttons: Applications, Schedule, and Settings.

Applications

In this section, you can choose Kaspersky applications to update. The applications are divided into categories.

For the first update we recommend selecting no more than two applications. Add new applications one by one for each download. If you choose many applications at once, download will take substantial time.

Schedule

Choose running updates manually when necessary or set a schedule.

Settings

The Settings window contains the following sections:

  • General. The section contains general tool settings as well as options for creating dumps and starting tracing.

  • Connection. The section contains timeout and proxy settings.

  • Download. In this section, you can set an update source and paths to the folders to download updates.

  • Reports. In this section, you can set the parameters for saving the tool performance reports.
