How to fix the issues of updating from the network folder and of a critical number of log entries in Kaspersky Security 10 for Windows Server
Errors occuring when the number of entries in the log is excessive
When the number of entries in the Windows Security log becomes excessively large, you may get the following Kaspersky Security 10 for Windows Server performance issues:
- the application stops with an error
- some application components do not work: Anti-Cryptor and Untrusted Hosts Blocking tasks may fail to start.
To eliminate the problem manually, you can delete entries from the log Windows Security.
Error updating databases from the network folder
When running the Database Update task with the network folder as an update source, you can encounter an error after entering credenlials.
Solution:
To eliminate these issues, please download and install the critical fix:
- 32-bit operating system: critical_fix_product_core_3(kb13017)_x86.zip
- 64-bit operating system: critical_fix_product_core_3(kb13017)_x64.zip
After installing the critical fix, you may see the following entries in the Windows EventLog when Kaspersky Security is stopped: EventID = 8000, “main: get message failed”. These events are diagnostic.
