The Virus outbreak event is generated when anti-virus applications register a Malicious object detected event. Information about Malicious object detected events must therefore be saved on the Administration Server in order for virus outbreaks to be detected.
You can configure the settings for saving information about Malicious object detected events in the anti-virus application’s policy.
How to automatically activate a policy when virus activity is detected
- Open the properties of the Administration Server.
- Go to Virus outbreak and click Configure policies to activate on Virus outbreak event.
- Add the policy and click OK.
If a policy is activated as a result of a Virus outbreak event, you will only be able to switch back to the previous policy manually. Malicious object detected events are calculated based only on information from client computers of the main Administration Server. Information from secondary Administration Servers is not taken into account.
Virus outbreak event settings must be configured individually for each secondary Administration Sever.
