You can enable data exchange through SNMP in Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Linux Mail Server in one of the following ways:

  • Through the web interface. For instructions, see Online Help.
  • Through the command line. See below for instructions.

How to enable data exchange through the SMNP protocol using the command line

  1. Adjust the address of the SNMP master agent. In the snmpd.conf file, specify the following value:
master agentx
AgentXSocket tcp:0.0.0.0:705
  1. Export the SNMP task settings to the file using the following command:
/opt/kaspersky/klms/bin/klms-control --get-settings <SNMP_task_ID> -f <file_name>
  1. Open the file for editing.
  2. Set the address of the mail server with running SNMP manager in the following section:
<masterAgentAddress>tcp:127.0.0.1:705</masterAgentAddress>
  1. Enable the use of the SNMP protocol. To do it, type 1 in the <enableSNMP> section.
  2. Save the file and import it to the application using the following command:
/opt/kaspersky/klms/bin/klms-control --set-settings <SNMP_task_ID> -f <file_name>
  1. Restart Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Linux Mail Server.

Data exchange will be enabled. Now you can access MIB objects of Kaspersky Security 8 for Linux Mail Server and receive data through the SNMP protocol using OID objects.
