Backing up and restoring the iOS MDM Server data using the kliosbackup utility

Migration from iOS MDM Server Windows to iOS MDM Server Linux is performed using the kliosbackup utility, which lets you backup and restore information on all connected iOS MDM devices and their properties. The utility runs in silent mode.

For the transferred mobile devices to be displayed correctly in Kaspersky Security Center Web Console, both Administration Server and iOS MDM Server must be migrated. For detailed information on the migration scenario, refer to the Migrating from Kaspersky Security Center Windows to Kaspersky Security Center Linux section.

By default, the kliosbackup utility is located in the following installation folder:

• For Windows: C:\Program Files(x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Mobile Device Management for IOS
• For Linux: /opt/kaspersky/iosmdm/bin/

To migrate iOS MDM Server Windows data using the kliosbackup utility:

1. Create a backup copy of iOS MDM Server data on a Windows device that has iOS MDM Server installed.

   Run kliosbackup with the required set of keys from the command line.

   Example: kliosbackup -backup -path BACKUP_PATH [-pwd PASSWORD]

2. Restore iOS MDM Server data from the created backup copy on a Linux device.

   Transfer the files with iOS MDM Server backup data to a Linux device, and then run kliosbackup with the required set of keys from the command line.

   Example: kliosbackup -restore -path BACKUP_PATH [-pwd PASSWORD]

Descriptions of the keys:

• -backup — Create a backup the iOS MDM Server data.
• -restore — Restore the iOS MDM Server data. Data is restored using the information contained in the BACKUP_PATH folder.
• -path BACKUP_PATH — Specify a local path to the folder with backup data.
• -pwd PASSWORD — Set a backup password.
