Hard drives that have been encrypted using BitLocker Drive Encryption technology cannot be decrypted via the Encrypted Device Restore Utility (FDERT).

If there is no connection between the computer and the Administration Server, you may need to completely decrypt the hard drive. Should this be the case, you can use the Encrypted Device Restore Utility.

To decrypt a drive using the utility:

  1. Connect it to a different computer that meets the following requirements:
    • Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows is installed with encryption components.
    • Network Agent is installed.
    • The computer is connected to the Administration Server whose policy was used to encrypt the drive.
    • Network Agent and the Administration Server are connected.
  2. Start the operating system.
  3. Open Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows and click the Support icon.
