After upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 8, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2013 cannot be started.

If you upgrade the operating system from Windows 7 to Windows 8 on the computer with Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2013 installed, then after the upgrade you may receive the error"The installed version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus is not compatible with Microsoft Windows 8 xXX Edition (build 8375). Download and install the version of the application that is compatible with Microsoft Windows 8 xXX Edition (build 8375) from Kaspersky Lab website."

For correct work of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2013 after the operating system upgrade, reinstall the application. Do the following:

  1. Download the latest version of the product from the Kaspersky Lab website.
  2. Click Save.
  3. In the Save as window, select the required folder to save the installer (by default, Desktop) and click Save.
  4. When the file is downloaded, click Close.
  5. Run the downloaded file (with the .exe extension) by double-clicking it.
  6. Follow the instructions of the Setup Wizard.
