June 30, 2011 Kaspersky Lab announced the release of Maintenance Pack 1 for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Linux File Servers. The full version number is 8.0.1.145.

Changes introduced in version 8.0.1.145:
  • Modified task startup schedule: after upgrading an earlier version to Maintenance Pack 1, all task schedules will be reset to manual startup.

  • Fixed the error with unstable Network Agent operation.

  • Fixed the error with excessive event generation.

  • Updated system requirements

How to install and update:
  • Linux

    • for 32 and 64 bit operating systems using RPM:

      # rpm -i kav4fs-8.0.1-145.i386.rpm
      # /opt/kaspersky/kav4fs/bin/kav4fs-setup.pl

      # rpm -i klnagent-8.0.1-145.i386.rpm
      # /opt/kaspersky/klnagent/lib/bin/setup/postinstall.pl

    • for 32 bit operating systems using dpkg:

      # dpkg -i kav4fs_8.0.1-145_i386.deb
      # /opt/kaspersky/kav4fs/bin/kav4fs-setup.pl

      # dpkg -i klnagent_8.0.1-145_i386.deb
      # /opt/kaspersky/klnagent/lib/bin/setup/postinstall.pl

    • for 64 bit operating systems using dpkg:

      # dpkg -i --force-architecture kav4fs_8.0.1-145_i386.deb
      # /opt/kaspersky/kav4fs/bin/kav4fs-setup.pl

      # dpkg -i -force-architecture klnagent_8.0.1-145_i386.deb
      # /opt/kaspersky/klnagent/lib/bin/setup/postinstall.pl

  • FreeBSD

    # pkg_add kav4fs-8.0.1_145.tgz
    # /usr/local/bin/kav4fs-setup.pl

If you want Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Web Management Console services stat automatically after installing on a server running FreeBSD, add the following lines to /etc/rc.conf configuration file:

kav4fs_supervisor_enable="YES"
kav4fs_wmconsole_enable="YES"


How to upgrade an earlier version locally:

  1. Remove Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 8.0.0.136 package by standard OS tools (using dpkg -r or rpm -e command)

  2. Install Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 8.0.1.145 package
