Kaspersky Anti-Virus and/or Administration Tools log files can be obtained in a number of ways depending on how you install/remove Kaspersky Anti-Virus

Install / remove using the file Setup.exe

This installation / removal method automatically generates a log file named kav8wsee_install_<UID>.log in the folder %TEMP% of the user account used for installation / removal.

Install / remove from command line using the file kavws.msi or kavwstools.msi

There are two ways of creating an installation log file:

  • Using the command line argument /l*v logfilename.log.

    Examples:

Install Kaspersky Anti-Virus with default settings in a non-interactive mode, and generate an installation log file named wsee.log in the root of disk C:

    msiexec /i kavws.msi /l*v C:\wsee.log /qn

Remove Kaspersky Anti-Virus administration tools and generate a log file named wseetools_del.log in the root of disk С:

    msiexec /x kavws.msi /l*v C:\wseetools_del.log

  • enable log file generation before installing / removing using the .reg file MSI_log.zip on the host going to install / remove Kaspersky Anti-Virus. A log file named MSI*.log will be created in the folder %TEMP% of the user account used for installing / removing Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

Install / remove via GPO

Enable log file generation before installing / removing using the .reg file MSI_log.zip on the host going to install / remove Kaspersky Anti-Virus. A log file named MSI*.log will be created in the folder %TEMP% of the user account used for installing / removing Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

Install / remove via Kaspersky Administration Kit

A log file named kav8wsee_install_<UID>.log will be generated automatically in the folder %TEMP% of the user account used for installing / removing Kaspersky Anti-Virus.
