This article contains a list of switches applicable when installing:

  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition application – using the file \server\kavws.msi from the distribution package;

  • Anti-Virus administration tools using the file \client\kavwstools.msi from the distribution package.

Setting names correspond to interface when performing a local installation: – disabled, – enabled.

PRESCAN=<value> - scan active processes and boot sectors of local discs before installing Anti-Virus (Perform an antivirus scan).

– do not perform a scan before installing (by default).
– perform a scan before installing.
It is recommended to perform this scan before installing, because these areas may contain malicious code able to prevent Kaspersky Anti-Virus from installing. The scan takes a few minutes. Any infected or suspicious processes detected during installation will be eliminated from RAM (executable files of processes will not be deleted). Information about running applications may be lost in this case. Therefore it is recommended to close all running applications before starting an installation process.

INSTALLDIR=<full_path_to_the_folder> - Anti-Virus and/or Administration tools installation folder.

Default installation folders are: %Program Files%\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 For Windows Servers Enterprise Edition\ - for Anti-Virus; %Program Files%\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 For Windows Servers Enterprise Edition Admins Tools\ - for Administration tools.

RUNRTP=<value> - start resident file system protection and script scan upon installing Anti-Virus (Automatically enable resident protection).

– do not start.
- start (by default).

It is necessary to add a license key during Anti-Virus installation to be able to start the resident protection task.

ADDMSEXCLUSION=<value> - exclude certain objects recommended by Microsoft from resident file system protection scan task (Consider Microsoft recommendations).

– ignore these exclusions.
– use these exclusions (by default). These objects will be added to resident protection exceptions list.

Certain applications run on the server may get unstable when antivirus software intercepts or modifies files they use. For example, Microsoft includes certain domain controller applications into this list and recommends excluding such files from resident protection scope as uninfectable. You can view the file list in Microsoft Knowledge Base FAQ.

ADDKLEXCLUSION=<value> exclude objects recommended by Kaspersky Lab from scan by resident file system protection task on a server.

- ignore these exclusions.
– use these exclusions (by default). These objects will be added to resident protection exclusions list.

RADMINEXCLUSION=<value> - exclude objects detected as threats by the mask not-a-virus:RemoteAdmin* from processing by resident protection and On-demand-scan tasks (Add threat mask not-a-virus:RemoteAdmin* as an exclusion).

0 – do not add this exclusion to the application (by default). In this case, an object detected to contain a threat class not-a-virus:RemoteAdmin* will be processed by Anti-Virus by applying actions configured in application settings (up to deleting the object).
1 – add an exclusion rule for threats by mask not-a-virus:RemoteAdmin*. Anti-Virus will skip such objects upon detection without applying any actions.

LICENSEKEYPATH=<license_key_file_name_with_full_path> - license key file full path (License key).

CONFIGPATH=<configuration_file_name> - Kaspersky Anti-Virus imports settings from a selected configuration file created in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition / 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition.

ADDWFEXCLUSION=<value> - allow network connections for Anti-Virus console. This setting should be used when installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus console on a separate host, not on the protected server. This console allows manging server protection remotely.

– deny (by default).
1 – allow.

EULA=<value> means accepting the terms of End User License Agreement. If EULA=0, the installation will be cancelled.
