The table below contains error messages that may appear in Kaspersky Update Utility 4.0 for Windows and Linux/FreeBSD.

Error text Cause
Out of space
(“Insufficient free disk space”)
The application cannot copy files to the update folder because there is not enough free space on the disk.
Free the disk space and run the update again.
No source file
(“Update files are corrupted”)
The requested file does not exist in the update source.
Run the update again.
Bases corrupted
(“Databases are corrupted”)
The required database files do not exist in the update source.
Download the update again. Restart the update.
All files are up-to-date
(“No available updates”)
The Updates folder contains the same set of databases as the update source.
Not all components are updated
(“Not all components were updated”)
The application did not download updates for all components.
Download the update again. If you are updating from a local source, check that the assigned databases are correct.
Invalid signature
(“Update files are corrupted”)
Error verifying database or patch file signature.
Download the update again. Restart the update.
If you are updating from a local source, update the databases on it from the Kaspersky servers and try again.
Operation cancelled
(“Operation cancelled by the user”)
The operation being performed by the application was stopped by the user.
Invalid index
(“XML index is corrupted. The file has an invalid structure or is missing”)
The requested index file does not exist in the update source.
If you are updating from a local source, check that the assigned databases are correct.
If you are downloading from Kaspersky servers, try downloading the updates once again.
Something gone wrong
(“Update error”)
Check the connection channel and download the update again.
Restart the application later.
Net error
(“A network failure occurred while downloading updates”)
Network error when downloading updates.
Check your connection settings, the availability of update sources, and the list of sources in the application settings.
Operation timeout
(“Network operation timed out”)
A large number of connections to the update source.
Try downloading the updates later.
Resolve error
(“Error resolving network name”)
Check network connection settings, name resolution, access to DNS server, Internet access, and the update source address.
Retranslation successful
(“Update distribution completed successfully”)
Anti-virus databases and modules for the selected applications were successfully downloaded.
Access denied
(“Authentication error”)
User account authentication failed on the HTTP or FTP server.
The application does not support HTTP or FTP resources that request authentication.
Select another update source. Grant access to the HTTP or FTP server without authorization.
Proxy error
(“Proxy server issues”)
Problems with proxy settings.
Check the network connection parameters in the utility properties, the proxy server address and its availability, as well as the network connection parameters in the operating system settings.
