What's the difference between Kaspersky Security Cloud and Kaspersky Total Security

Most features of Kaspersky Security Cloud and Kaspersky Total Security are identical. However, of the two applications only Kaspersky Security Cloud uses the Adaptive Security technology. The application adjusts to your activity and gives recommendations on better protection for you and your family providing a higher level of security for your device. The components below are absent in Kaspersky Total Security and available only in Kaspersky Security Cloud.

Components available only in Kaspersky Security Cloud Description
Hard Drive Health Monitor This component is designed to check performance and current condition of your computer's hard drive. It will monitor both internal and external hard disk drives, including SSD.
Password strength check This component will notify you each time you try to set a weak password. If the latest version of Kaspersky Password Manager is installed on your device, the component will be automatically disabled.
Identical passwords check This component will notify you about risks related to using identical passwords. If the latest version of Kaspersky Password Manager is installed on your device, the component will be automatically disabled.
Weak settings control This component scans the system for nonsecure settings by checking the system registry. Critically vulnerable settings will be displayed in the application interface with the Recommended to fix status.
Security news This component analyzes information about resources you visit and applications you launch. The analysis results are used solely for news selection to offer you important and interesting articles on security topics. Security news are displayed in the Notification Center along with other Kaspersky articles.
Detection of device usage by a child This component monitors and analyzes information about visited websites and opened applications. If the analysis results show that the device is used by a child, the owner of My Kaspersky account receives a notification with an offer to protect the device with Kaspersky Safe Kids.
Account сheck This component is designed to detect account information leakages. If the check shows that your account data has been compromised, you will receive a warning.
Devices in my network This component receives information about devices connected to the Wi-Fi network that you specified as home network and notifies you in case an unknown device connects to the network.
