How to get Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11 for Mac trace files

The article concerns Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11 for Mac (version 11.0.0.501).
 
 
 
 

Upon creating a request to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support, you may need the trace file that can track application’s actions and determine the step at which an error occurs.

To create trace files:

  1. Download and unpack the archive traces_kesmac.zip with scripts for enabling and disabling tracing.
  2. Shutdown Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11 for Mac. To do so, in the context menu of the application select Exit
  3. Open the terminal. To do so, go to the ApplicationsUtilitiesTerminal or type Terminal in Spotlight (Ctrl+space).
  4. Run enable_traces.sh file on behalf of the user.  

sudo sh <path_to_the_file>/enable_traces.sh 

  1. Enter the password and press Enter.
  2. Launch Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11 for Mac and reproduce the issue. 
  3. Wait a minute and disable tracing. To do so, run disable_traces.sh file. 

Trace files will be created in the folder: 

  • Library/Logs/Kaspersky Lab/ 
  • /Users/<user_name>/Library/Logs/Kaspersky Lab/
