When activating Kaspersky Free, you may encounter the message “unknown error”. 

Solution

Disable the use of a proxy server in the application:

  1. In the main window of Kaspersky Free, click The settings icon in the lower-left corner.

  1. In the settings window, go to the Additional section and select Network.

  1. Click Proxy server settings.
  2. Select the option Do not use proxy server and click Save.
