Secure Keyboard Input in Kaspersky Security Cloud
The article refers to Kaspersky Security Cloud — Family and Kaspersky Security Cloud — Personal.
The data you enter from the keyboard (such as passwords and banking card details) can be intercepted by spying malware, which registers keystrokes whenever you are using a hardware keyboard.
Use On-Screen Keyboard of Kaspersky Security Cloud to protect your data from interception.
On-Screen Keyboard is a component of the Kaspersky Protection plug-in. The plug-in is added to your browser after the installation of Kaspersky Security Cloud. The following browsers are supported:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 – 11 versions (except IE 10 and IE 11 in the new-style Windows interface)
- Mozilla Firefox 43 – 50
- Mozilla Firefox ESR 38.5 – 45
- Google Chrome 44.x – 55.x
- Microsoft Edge
To launch On-Screen Keyboard, restart the computer after you install Kaspersky Security Cloud and enable the Kaspersky Protection plug-in.
How to open On-Screen Keyboard
You can open the On-Screen Keyboard from the browser or from the context menu of Kaspersky Security Cloud.
How to open On-Screen Keyboard from a browser window
In the upper part of the browser window, click the Kaspersky Protection icon and select Open On-Screen Keyboard.
How open On-Screen Keyboard from the application's shortcut menu
In the lower-right corner of the Desktop, right-click the application icon and select Tools, then select On-Screen Keyboard.
If the application icon is hidden from the notification area, click the Show hidden icons arrow.
How to type using the On-Screen Keyboard
Activate the field to which you will enter the text by clicking it. Enter the text by clicking the buttons of the On-Screen Keyvoard with your pointing device.
To type key combinations on the On-Screen Keyboard (e.g. Alt+F4):
- Click the first key, Alt.
- Then click the second key, F4.
- Click the first key (Alt) again.
The second click of the key acts in the same way as releasing the key on a hardware keyboard.
On-Screen Keyboard settings
You can adjust the settings of the On-Screen Keyboard in the Secure Keyboard Input component of Kaspersky Security Cloud:
- Open the settings of Kaspersky Security Cloud by clicking the gear icon in the lower-left corner of the main window.
- If you don’t know how to open the application window, see this guide.
- In the Settings window, click Additional and select Secure Data Input in the right frame.
- In the Secure Data Input window, select or clear the check boxes:
- Open On-Screen Keyboard by typing CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+P.
- Show quick launch icon in data entry fields.
- To choose the categories of websites where the quick launch icon for the On-Screen Keyboard will be shown, click Edit categories.
- Select the check boxes for the website categories.
- To create a list of websites that not require the use of On-Screen Keyboard, click Manage exclusions.
- In the Exclusions for On-Screen Keyboard window, click Add.
- Enter the website address, select the scope and protection options.
- Click Add.
How to configure Secure Keyboard Input
In the settings of Kaspersky Security Cloud, select categories of websites that require keyboard input protection:
- Open the settings of Kaspersky Security Cloud by clicking the gear icon in the lower-left corner of the main window.

- In the Settings window, click Additional and select Secure Data Input in the right frame.
- In the Secure Keyboard Input section, click Edit categories.
- Select categories of websites that require keyboard input protection.
- To add exclusions, click Manage exclusions.
- In the Exclusions for Secure Keyboard Input window, click Add.
- Enter the website address, select the scope and protection options.
- Click Add.
