How to install a patch for Kaspersky Security 10.x for Windows Server
How to create an installation package
Deploy the installation package through Kaspersky Security Center 10. Follow the instructions below.
- Open Kaspersky Security Center 10.
- In the Administration Console, go to Advanced → Remote installation → Installation packages. Click Create installation package.
- Select Create installation package for specified executable file.

Enter a name for the package and click Next.
- Click Select and specify the path to the patch executable file.
- In the Executable file command line (optional) field, enter the following for the 64-bit version of the patch:
MsiExec /p critical_fix_product_core_10(kb13017)_x64.msp /norestart UNLOCK_PASSWORD=Password /l*v c:\temp\patch.log /qn
Only use the UNLOCK_PASSWORD parameter if a password has been set for Kaspersky Security 10.x for Windows Server. Remove this parameter if no password has been set.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish to complete the Wizard.
The installation package has been created.
How to install the patch remotely through Kaspersky Security Center 10
Before starting a remote installation through Kaspersky Security Center 10, create an installation package. Follow the instructions below.
- Create an installation package.
- In the Administration Console, go to Advanced → Remote installation → Installation packages.
- In the shortcut menu of the package you created, select Install application.
- Choose one of the options:
- Install on group of managed devices, if you have configured administration groups.
- Select devices for installation, if you want to install the patch on specific computers.
- Select the devices or groups of devices on which to install the patch. Click Next.
- Click Next.
- Select Do not restart device. Click Next.
- Select an account for accessing the devices. Click Next.
- Click Next to begin the installation.
- Click Finish.
Once the task has finished, the patch will be installed on the client devices.
To view the installation process, go to the Tasks section.
How to install the patch locally with logging
- Open the command line.
- Run the following command:
MsiExec /p "<path to patch>\<patch name>.msp" /norestart UNLOCK_PASSWORD=<password> /l*v c:\temp\patch.log /qn
Only use the UNLOCK_PASSWORD parameter if a password has been set for Kaspersky Security 10.x for Windows Server. Remove this parameter if no password has been set.
Example:
MsiExec /p "С:\KSWS\critical_fix_core_12(14306)_x64.msp" /norestart UNLOCK_PASSWORD=123 /l*v c:\temp\patch.log /qn

How to check locally
- In the Windows toolbar, right-click the Kaspersky Security 10.x for Windows Server icon and select About the application from the shortcut menu.

In the window that opens, check information about the patch that was installed in the Installed updates field.
How to check in Kaspersky Security Center 10
- In the Administration Console, go to Reports.
- Open the properties of the Kaspersky Lab software version report.
- Add the Updates installed field to the Detail fields section. Click OK.
- Update the report.
- Check the information about the patch in the Updates installed column for Kaspersky Security 10.x for Windows Server.
How to remove a patch
- On the client device, open Control Panel → Programs and Features.
- Enable the displaying of installed updates.
- Select the patch from the list and click Uninstall.
