The article concerns the following versions of Kaspersky Security Center 10:

  • Service Pack 3 (version 10.5.1781.0)
  • Service Pack 2 Maintenance Release 1 (version 10.4.343)

The lock is an attribute that indicates whether or not the editing of policies, tasks and local programs is permitted:

  • In nested groups’ policies and on secondary Administration Servers.
  • In the local application interface on client devices.
  • In group tasks.

The lock can be:

  • Open (Open lock): editing is allowed
  • Closed (Closed lock): editing is not allowed.

By default, a policy is created with settings editing disabled, so the attribute is locked.
