Reinstall Kaspersky Free.

  1. Download the Kaspersky Free installer from the Kaspersky Lab website.
  2. Remove the application. See this article for instructions.
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. Try to install Kaspersky Free once again. See this article for instructions.

What to do if the issue persists

If the issue still occurs after you have reinstalled Kaspersky Free, check that Base Filtering Engine (BFE) is running. Start it if necessary. See this article for instructions.
