Cannot connect Kaspersky Free to My Kaspersky if an Avast application is installed on a device

If you are running Windows 8.1 with both Kaspersky Free and Avast installed, Kaspersky Free will not connect to the My Kaspersky portal. 

To connect Kaspersky Free to My Kaspersky:

  1. Disable Web Shield in Avast or remove Avast completely. For instructions on removing Avast, see this article.

Disabling Web Shield in Avast 

  1. Wait 30–60 minutes. 
  2. In the main window of Kaspersky Free, click My Kaspersky.

  1. Enter your My Kaspersky login and click the arrow button.

Connecting Kaspersky Free to My Kaspersky 

  1. Enter your My Kaspersky password and click Sign in.

Kaspersky Free is now connected to your My Kaspersky account.
