How to disable Self-Defense in Kaspersky Small Office Security 5 for Personal Computer

Self-Defense in Kaspersky Small Office Security 5 prevents attempts to modify or delete the application files, processes, and registry entries. Self-Defense is enabled by default.  

We recommend that you disable Self-Defense only to troubleshoot the work of Kaspersky Small Office Security. For example, you may need to do so to trace files.

To disable Self-Defense:

  1. In the main window of Kaspersky Small Office Security 5 for PC, click the Image: The Settings button button.

  1. In the settings window, go to the Additional section and select Self-Defense.

  1. Clear the Enable Self-Defense check box and click Continue in the warning window.

When Self-Defense is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to the attacks of malware. As soon as you finish troubleshooting, enable Self-Defense.
