System changes after installing Kaspersky Security Center 10 on a cluster:

Services

On the active node

On the passive node

ksc10_12766_02

Services features of Kaspersky Security Center 10 on a cluster:

  • Cluster services names contain _cluster.
  • Unlike in case of installation on a single server, the following services are set to run Manually in case of a cluster installation: kladminserver_clusterklnagent_cluster and klnacserver_cluster.
  • Two Network agent services are registered on the nodes:
    • The Kaspersky Security Center Network Agent is running on active node only and functions like a Network agent in a common Administration server installation.
    • The Kaspersky Security Center Stand-Alone Network Agent service behaves like a Network agent installed on a client host, e.g. compiles hardware and network inventory, manages host security.  This service is always running on all nodes.

Mounted disks

Active node displays a quorum disk Q and cluster resource disk S, the latter with Kaspersky Security Center 10 installed.

Passive node does not display disk Q, and shows no information about disk S.

(Stand-Alone) Network agent data is stored in the folder:

  • For Windows Server 2003 — %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\KasperskyLab\adminkit.
  • For Windows Server 2008 R2 and higher — %PROGRAMDATA%\KasperskyLab\adminkit.
