How to change system registry values on client hosts using Kaspersky Security Center 10

This article concerns Kaspersky Security Center 10: 

  • Service Pack 3 (version 10.5.1781.0)
  • Service Pack 2 Maintenance Release 1 (version 10.4.343.0)

With Kaspersky Security Center 10, you can reconfigure the system registry on client hosts remotely.

The method applies only to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE branch. Parameters for keys from the HKEY_CURRENT_USER branch cannot be altered.

Step 1. Export registry values into a .reg file

  1. Launch the Windows registry editor (regedit.exe).
  2. Make the required alterations.

We recommend that you make a backup copy of the registry before changing it.

  1. Select the required parameter or section, then click  File → Export.


  1. Save the file with the reg. extension, e.g. ChangeReg.reg. 
  2. Copy the ChangeReg.reg file to an empty folder.

Step 2. Edit an executable file

  1. In the folder containing ChangeReg.reg, create a text file. For example, change.txt. 
  2. Open it in Notepad and enter the following lines:

@echo off
reg import ChangeReg.reg

  1. Save and close the text file.
  2. Change the file name from change.txt to change.bat. 

Step 3. Create an installation package

  1. Open Kaspersky Security Center 10.
  2. Go to AdvancedRemote installationInstallation packages and click Create installation package.


  1. Select Create installation package for specified executable file, specify the name and click Next.


  1. Select the change.bat file and select the checkbox Copy entire folder to the installation package. Click Next.


  1. Close the Wizard window. 

Step 4. Distribute an installation package to client hosts

  1. In the context menu of the created package, select Install application.


  1. Specify the hosts you would like to change the registry on and run the task.
