Kaspersky Total Security features the Self-Defense component that protects the application from malware and ensures its stable operation.  In some cases, you may need to disable Self-Defense (for example, for deleting large trace files).

To enable or disable Self-Defense, do the following:

  1. Open the Settings window of Kaspersky Total Security.
  2. In the Settings window, go to the Additional section and select Self-Defense in the right frame.

Select Self-defense in the Additional section

  1. Select or clear the Enable Self-Defense check box.

Enable or disable Self-Defense

  1. In the Attention! window, Click Continue.

Click the Continue button.

  1. Close the application window.
