How to configure remote management of Kaspersky Small Office Security 3 Personal Computer installed on networked computers

Management Console is designed for remote control of Kaspersky Small Office Security 3 Personal Computer installed on networked computers.

For initial configuration of the Management Console module, perform the following actions:

Step 1. Launch Management Console

  1. Open Kaspersky Small Office Security 3 for Personal Computer.
  2. In the bottom part of the window, click the button  and open the quick access panel.

  1. Click the Management Console button.

  1. In the Management Console window click the button Start using Management Console.

Step 2. Set administrator password for Management Console

If you use Management Console to remotely manage Kaspersky Small Office Security 3 Personal Computer in your local network, then the password for Management Console must be the same on all computers in the network. Note that for correct work of Management Console each computer in the local network should have a unique name.

  1. If access to Management Console has not been protected, the Protect with Administrator Password window will appear. Fill in the Password and Confirm password fields.
  2. Select the checkbox Save password for current session.
  3. Click the Specify password button.

If you have password-protected access to other components of the application, in the open window click the Apply current password button to password-protect access to Management Console with the same password.  

If you have already set protection with an administrator password, then in the open window enter your password.

Step 3. Searching for computers to manage

To make your office network computers visible in the Management Console, set the status Trusted network or Local network for each computer in the Firewall settings of your office network. If you cannot connect to a remote computer with Kaspersky Small Office Security 3 Personal Computer installed, you may need to change Firewall settings.

  1. During the first launch of Management Console, computer search is performed automatically. To stop the search, click the Stop search button in the left part of the window. 

To resume computer search in the selected network, click the Searching computers button. 

You can change the list of found computers by using the Add computer manually and Clear list buttons.

  1. Select the Hide computers not controlled check box to display only the computers you control.

After the initial setting, remote management over protection tasks, such as scan for viruses and vulnerabilities and update of antivirus databases on networked computers, will become available.
