To ensure stable operation, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 includes mechanisms to protect itself and defend against remote attacks. However, in some instances you may need to disable the application's self-defense mechanisms (for example, in order to delete traces files created by the application that are taking up a lot of space on your hard disk).

In order to enable/disable the product's self-defense, do the following:

  1. Open Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 .
  2. In the lower right corner of the window, click the Settings link.

  1. In the Settings window, select the Additional section and click Self-Defense.

  1. If password protection has been enabled for the application, then in the Settings window enter the password and click Continue.

  1. Set/clear the Enable Self-Defense checkbox.

  1. In the Warning ! window, click Accept.

  1. Close the application window.
